Q; Do I need a website?
My business is small and we only sell locally. We’ve done fine for years.
 

A; The short answer is a resounding yes!

Here is just one example:

Not long ago while I was driving home from a meeting with a client, my wife called and asked me to pick up something for dinner. She mentioned a restaurant we both like, but since we haven’t been there in a while, I asked her to look up their menu online so we could figure out what I should get.

As hard as she tried, she couldn't find their website. We finally realized that they did not have one or, perhaps, went out of business. Since we had not been there in a while and could not remember much of their menu, we decided to get dinner from another place that had a website.

Imagine if that was your business. You’ve just lost a sale or maybe even a longtime client. This is why every business, large or small, has to have a website.

Note: The restaurant in question went out of business… they never got a website.

Can you do e-commerce if you are not online? No. Can customers who hear about your business check you out later on the Web? Not if you don't have a site! Can your current customers (like  I was) find out what the new offerings are if you don’t have a website? Not conveniently.
